What equipment do I need?
You've found the satellite(s) you want to watch - now you need a dish and a box to watch it.
First, the box. You've got a choice of 4 boxes.
If you've chosen to watch only free to air channels, then the only box you'll need is the SRT 4620 - see the link to the left for more information on that box. They cost $160.
Or you can choose the Healing free to air receiver for $150. You can read more about these boxes here.
If you'd like an excellent picture quality, then the SRT 4820 is the next step up for you. It has S-video and RGB outputs, and will deliver a great picture to your display. This is the box for people with a plasma or LCD tv - and especially those with German Loewe and Grundig sets.
We also have a PVR satellite box, the SRT 4890. It has a hard disk in it that will enable you to record about 24 hours of TV on it, depending on the channel. It's got timer functions and you can set it to record while you're out.
Now you also need a dish and associated gear.
The following satellites require an 65cm dish and Ku Band LNB ($60 for both)
NSS6 - Optus B3 - Optus C1 - Optus B1
This is all you'll need to watch channels from these 4 satellites. (positioner required if you want to watch ALL these satellites)
The following satellites require a 2.3Metre mesh dish and C Band LNB ($265 for both)
Thaicom3 - Insat2E - Asiasat2 - Asiasat3s -PalpaC2 - JCSat3 - Measat2 - JSCat2A -PAS8 -PAS2 -Intel804 -Intel701
For example, if you wanted to watch Euro Sports on Asiasat3a - then you'd need the SRT4620 and 2.3Metre dish. Click here for info on that package.
We also have mounting poles for the 85cm dishes, and you can choose from a tin roof mount, gutter mount or wall mount.
For information on moving your dish to receive multiple satellites, click here. We advise customers who are considering a 2.3Metre mesh dish to consider purchasing the positioner as well, as it is only $80 more for a positioner and actuator. This will allow you to view from 11 more satellites!
