SRT L717 Universal Ku Band LNB $25
*Special Note - we also stock a DUAL Ku LNB - click here for details.
To receive satellite signals, you need a LNB (Low Noise Block). What this does is picks up all the signals being bounced off the dish and filters out selected frequencies and amplifies the frequencies you need. It then sends the required frequencies to the satellite decoder box. Below is a picture of an 85cm dish with this LNB attached.
This particular LNB is for Ku band, which is a particular way of transmitting satellite signals. It's kind of like FM v's AM with radio technology. Ku band operates from about 10.7 - 12.8 GHz.
To set up your receiver with this LNB is going to be a little different to a standard Ku LNB. You'll need to set the receiver to UNIVERSAL and the Low L.O Frequency to 9750 and the High L.O. Frequency to 10600 then it will work properly.
You would use this LNB with the following satellites:
NSS6 - Optus B3 - Optus C1 - Optus B1
It is used with the 90cm dish or the 65cm dish.
